April 1 2013 Perkasie Council Meeting

The closed door "pre-meetings" continue every month.  All claims that it is a meeting for the agenda are false, as the agenda is set and sent out every Friday before.  Any there has been (1) agenda change so far this year.  100% transparency?  YOU DECIDE.

Meeting Part 1:  Resident Rebecca Militec has obtained copies of resigned Police Chief Gura's contract and separation agreement.  Borough Council with the exception of Councilman Stottlar voted to overpay him $8,800.  Resident Roger Stiles takes exception to the borough contacting SEPTA about a problem with the trees damaging the sidewalk in front of the train station he leases without coming to him first.

Meeting Part 2:  Councilman Stottlar introduces a 2nd Amendment Preservation Resolution passed in Gilberton Borough PA and New Britain Boro and it receives a warm welcome and the solicitor is instructed to review and draft one for Perkasie to consider at the next meeting.   These types of resolutions have really no legal implication other than stating an opinion that the Borough officials respect their sworn oaths and will uphold the Constitution which is under attack.
